Event Details
After being on hiatus for more than a few months, the Los Angeles InDesign Users Group is back in business, ready to move back into the future.
We're thrilled to be joined by Brian Wood (brianwoodtraining.com), who will be telling us a lot of great information about the latest CS5 release.
There will also be light refreshments, a raffle (CS5 software!), and some free giveaways.
Come early. Meeting will start promptly at 6 p.m.
Meeting Notes
The Los Angeles InDesign User Group held its first meeting after a three-year hiatus at the Julian Dixon Library in Culver City on July 8, 2010. If you were one of the some 60 people there, you are now part of re-start history. The evening’s presenter was Brian Wood, who wowed the audience with a practical demonstration of the new features of InDesign CS5.
Thanks to Adobe for the major raffle prizes and to Layers magazine for generously providing free copies of their publication to all who attended.
Next Meeting
Meetings are held bimonthly on the third Thursday at various locations in the greater Los Angeles area. The next meeting will be held September 16, 2010 at the Santa Monica Library Auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Blvd., Santa Monica, California 90401. The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. There is convenient underground parking. The evening’s presenter will be Jonathan Levit.
About the Presenter

Brian Wood
Brian Wood is a mellow, friendly but kinda quiet guy who loves to learn all things tech — and so, 15 years ago, when he made his first stab at creating web sites, soaking his brain in what was then the newest, most cutting edge version of HTML — he was hooked.
Once he got into this world, things kind of just kept coming to him, so he became an Adobe Certified Instructor, and has spent years training designers, marketing pros, business owners, front end developers, and all those who want to create professional print design, web sites, and content. He has spoken many at many of the industry’s top events — like Adobe MAX, the How Interactive Design Conference, the Web Design Conference, and the InDesign Conference. Most significantly, he was the speaker at the Los Angeles InDesign User Group’s reboot on July 8, 2010 following a three year hiatus.
Brian works with design and production teams at advertising agencies, design firms, the likes of which include Adobe, Nordstrom, REI, Costco, Starbucks, HP, McGrawHill. In addition he’s authored five books, and dozens of articles.
